‘There wasn’t much euphoria’ – Hansi Flick reveals what he told Barcelona players after Dortmund defeat

“Two games have been played. We won the first 4-0 and lost 3-1 here. I think we’ve deservedly reached the semi-finals,” he told reporters.

“Dortmund made life very difficult for us; there was an extraordinary atmosphere, but we’re in the semi-finals. It’s important that we analyze today’s game, but we’ve also had a lot of games under our belts, and that may be normal.

“We want to keep doing the same thing, but it’s not always possible. We’re still confident, although we have to admit they gave us a hard time.

“We’re in the semi-finals; I think we have to look at it from a positive perspective. The team’s performance is a great achievement.

“There’s still a long way to go, and we’re not at the end yet. It’s a day to be happy.

“There wasn’t much euphoria in the locker room either; and I reminded them in the locker room that we’re in the semi-finals. And then things changed a bit, and they became happier.”
