‘Not Even 1%’: Apoorva Mukhija shares hundreds of rape, acid attack threats she got after India’s Got Latent row

Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, widely known as The Rebel Kid, has made a comeback on Instagram weeks after facing backlash from the India’s Got Latent controversy. In a new post shared on Tuesday (April 8), Apoorva opened up about the online abuse and threats she has received over the past few weeks. She shared a powerful message alongside screenshots of abusive comments and threats she’s been subjected to.

The post began with a trigger warning: “This post contains mentions of acid attacks, rape threats, and death threats.” In the caption, Apoorva wrote, “And that’s not even 1%.”

In a separate post, she shared a short but poignant message: “Don’t take away the story from the storyteller,” choosing to leave the caption blank.

Support pours in from fans

Fans flooded the comments with messages of love and encouragement. One follower wrote, “COME BACK. We don’t deserve the story, but you deserve the love.” Another commented, “My queen, you absolutely got this. You are such a strong girl!!”

“Imagine trolling a woman for taking a stand for herself,” wrote another person. “They wanted you quiet. It’s time that you give them a big Roar!” added another supporter.

Meanwhile, Apoorva, who boasts three million followers, had earlier deleted all her Instagram posts and unfollowed everyone, sparking concern among fans.

How is Apoorva related to India’s Got Latent row?

In February, Apoorva appeared on an episode of India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, which also featured Ranveer Allahbadia. The episode sparked public outrage after Ranveer made inappropriate remarks about sex and parenting.

Following the broadcast, multiple complaints were filed in Mumbai against Ranveer, Samay and Apoorva. She was accused of making an objectionable comment during the show. The National Commission for Women took notice of the controversy and summoned the individuals involved. Apoorva also appeared before the Mumbai Police during the investigation.
