Esha also addressed the time when Hardik Pandya found himself at the centre of controversy following his remarks on Koffee With Karan.
Esha Gupta has finally addressed the long-standing speculation about her rumoured relationship with cricketer Hardik Pandya. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, the Raaz 3 actress clarified that while the two shared a brief phase of getting to know each other, it never progressed into an actual relationship.
“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months. We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended,” Esha revealed.
When asked if there was ever a real possibility of a relationship, Esha admitted that it “maybe could have happened,” but things fizzled out quickly. Timing and compatibility, she noted, didn’t quite match up. “There was no drama or bitterness,” she added. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”
Esha also addressed the time when Hardik Pandya found himself at the centre of controversy following his remarks on Koffee With Karan. While many were quick to slam the cricketer for his comments, Esha clarified that she was unaffected, as they were no longer in touch by then. “That part didn’t affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then,” she said.
Interestingly, when the infamous episode aired in 2019, Esha was one of the few celebrities who publicly criticised it for its misogynistic tone. However, she now reveals that she refrained from adding to the pile-on. “They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?” she said, adding that she had matured emotionally and preferred not to dwell on the past.
The actress also explained why their connection didn’t develop further. She said she seeks grounded, meaningful relationships away from the public spotlight, something that perhaps clashed with Pandya’s high-profile public life.
Esha was last seen in Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 on MX Player alongside Bobby Deol. She also played DCP Laxmi Rathi in One Day: Justice Delivered. Rumour has it she may join the cast of Hera Pheri 3, though an official confirmation is awaited.
