Pune, 18th July 2025: Sangeeta Bijlani, wife of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, has filed a formal complaint with Pune Rural Police, alleging robbery, vandalism, and extensive damage to her farmhouse near Pawna Dam in Maval taluka.
According to the written complaint addressed to Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Gill, Sangeeta visited her farmhouse located at Gat No. 577, Tikona Peth, around 11:30 AM on Friday after a gap of four months due to her father’s illness. Upon arrival, she was “shocked and horrified” to find the property ransacked and damaged.
“The main door was broken, window grilles were shattered, and the entire house was in disarray. A television was missing, another damaged beyond repair, and signs of smoke damage were visible on the upper floor,” Sangeeta stated in her complaint. She further added that beds and household items were broken, a refrigerator was damaged, several valuables were missing, and all CCTV cameras installed on the premises had been deliberately destroyed.
Sangeeta, who was accompanied by two domestic helpers during the visit, expressed deep concern over the extent of destruction and urged authorities to take immediate action.
Describing the incident as a “serious matter involving intrusion, theft, and threat to personal safety,” Sangeeta appealed for swift police action and assured her cooperation in the investigation.
