Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Leela Bhansali Have A MAJOR Fallout Over Ranbir Kapoor’s Love And War: Report

Ranveer Singh reportedly celebrated his 40th birthday with close friends, but left out Sanjay Leela Bhansali over fallout.

Actor Ranveer Singh and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali have reportedly fallen out due to the director not offering him the lead role in Love & War. As per senior journalist, Subhash K Jha, Ranveer Singh is miffed about not leading Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, after giving the director hits like Ramleela, Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali features a love-triangle with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal as the leads. As per the report, Ranveer was offered the role of the second lead, which the actor declined. The role then went on to Vicky Kaushal. Due to their fallout, Bhansali was also not invited to Ranveer Singh’s birthday bash.

The report claims, “On July 6, Ranveer Singh celebrated his 40th birthday with a very private get-together where only close friends were welcome. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who gave Ranveer the superstar status with Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, was not one of the invitees. The director and actor are no more close friends.”

Ranveer Singh was the star of Bhansali’s previous three theatrical releases. He was also all set to lead Baiju Bawra with Alia Bhatt. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently focusing on Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War. In the meantime, Ranveer Singh signed Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.

The first look from Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar was unveiled on the occasion of his birthday on July 6. Ranveer Singh channels his beast mode in Dhurandhar, delivering a raw and relentless visual experience in the 2-minute 40-second first look. The film features an ensemble cast comprising Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.

However, Ranveer’s latest teaser has also stirred major debate, not for the action-packed visuals or the character’s intensity, but for his onscreen romantic pairing with 20-year-old actress Sara Arjun. The film was reportedly shot two years ago, which means Sara would’ve been just 18 at the time of filming, while Ranveer was 38. Despite the criticism, Ranveer has remained silent on the matter.

Presented by Jio Studios, a B62 Studios production, Dhurandhar, written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, releases on December 5.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently working on his next ambitious project, Love & War, featuring a powerhouse trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. The film began shooting in November 2024, and nearly 50 per cent of the production has already been completed. Now, Bhansali is gearing up to film some of the most intense sequences of the film. Despite the scale and scope of the production, the film remains on track for its scheduled release in March 2026.
