VIT Mauritius inks pact with Binghamton University, USA

To offer transformative education and cross-continental opportunities

Hyderabad: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Mauritius has signed MoU with Binghamton University, USA to empower future leaders by offering transformative education and cross-continental opportunities.

“This strategic MoU marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two institutions that will pave way for the students to explore various academic opportunities at one of the leading institution in the USA,” said Dr G Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT, who signed the MoU with Dr Harvey G Stenger, president of Binghamton University (SUNY), New York, USA.

The event was held at the Binghamton campus in the presence of Nobel laureate Dr M Stanley Whittingham and other senior leaders from both the institutions.

The VIT, Mauritius serves as a hub for international students from Asia, Europe and Africa and students are eligible for a 20-hour-per-week part time work and three-year work permit, a press release said.

VIT Mauritius is approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Government of Mauritius and offers Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering with AI and Computer Engineering with Data Science. Classes at VIT Mauritius commence in July 2025.
