India’s Got Latent case: Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina guilty of obscenity, first chargesheet soon, say Maharashtra Cyber

Last Friday, Yashasvi Yadav, Additional Director General of Police (Cyber) said they will soon file the first chargesheet in the ‘India’s Got Latent’ obscenity case.

Speaking at an event organised by Maharashtra Cyber, Yadav said that while there are no universal rules when it comes to obscenity, it depends upon the specific culture and context. “In India, we respect our parents a lot, and if someone says any obscene statements about them, it will be a case of obscenity,” Yadav said.

“The Honourable Supreme Court has defined obscenity as something which attracts the lascivious and prurient interest of the people. Based on this definition, there is a lot of obscenity along which the show uses to generate more views and likes, and that leads to revenue generation, we have found. We will soon be filing the first chargesheet in the case,” the officer added.

Founder of the popular YouTube channel ‘Beer Biceps’ Ranveer Allahbadia and YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’ host and comedian Samay Raina are under investigation for the allegedly obscene comments Allahbadia made during a guest appearance.
